Don't be afraid of retinol! Its effects are amazing, but read carefully. If you have any doubts, book your appointment with our Beauty Advisors to solve any questions or doubts you may have.
The easiest way to use it:
If you're going to start introducing retinol into your routine, be sure to start with it only in your nighttime routine. Apply it to clean, dry skin before your moisturizer - if your skin is sensitive, you can apply a thin layer of moisturizer before the retinol or even pour a couple of drops of this serum into your regular moisturizer when you have it on hand so your skin can gradually get used to it.
Because yes, the skin goes through a process of getting used to retinol called retinization. In this process you may feel a little dryness, tightness, flaking... it is totally normal, and that is the reason why we advise you to start using it at first only at night, little by little, and with a moisturizer that reinforces the barrier function on your skin.
Remember:
- Start by applying it one day a week. It will be enough if you have never used it and your skin is not used to it. - Always, always apply SPF50+ sunscreen the next morning. - Do not combine exfoliation, acids or peels with retinol in the same routine or during the first few weeks you are introducing it. If you are a beginner, your skin will thank you.
- Reinforcing your skin's barrier function when using retinol is always a good idea.
After about a month of regular use only at night, depending on the tolerance of your skin, you can start to increase the frequency of application during the week until you use it every other day. When the time comes, you can also use it during the day (if you are not going to expose yourself to direct sunlight) but always, always with SPF50+ sunscreen,
