Squat or sit on the toilet.

Gently squeeze the base to release the seal.

Cleaning methods

There are several cleaning methods for keeping the bowl clean

We recommend that you use BeYou Menstrual Cup Foaming Cleanser to thoroughly clean your cup. To use it, simply pour a small amount of the cleanser into the cup and lather with your hands, turning it upside down as needed. Once clean, rinse with clean water.

2. Cover completely with water and boil in an assigned pot for 5 - 7 minutes. Do not leave the boiling pot unattended and make sure the cup is completely cool before reinserting.

If you are in a public restroom without your Cleansing Foam, bring a small bottle of water to the cubicle to rinse your menstrual cup, or simply empty it and reinsert it, remembering to wash the cup more thoroughly at the next convenient time. Abroad, always use clean water to clean the cup!

Can I use a menstrual cup if I have an IUD or Mirena coil in place?

Yes, if you have a Mirena coil or IUD you can use a menstrual cup. Many women are concerned that the menstrual cup may displace the coil. However, the menstrual cup sits a little lower in the vaginal canal, while the IUD sits farther into the uterus, so it will not interfere with the coil. When using a menstrual cup with an IUD, you should leave some space between the cup and the cervix for comfort. If you feel that your cervix is quite low, then you may want to consider other options that do not interfere with your IUD/IUS.

Does the BeYou menstrual cup get dirty?

Removing the menstrual cup is no dirtier than any other sanitary product. Since all the blood is trapped inside the BeYou cup, you won't have to worry about getting your hands dirty. The only part you might consider "dirty" is when you insert the cup, as it's possible that a little blood may have gotten into your vaginal canal, but this also happens with tampons. Nothing you can't fix by washing your hands. P.S. Many of us have been conditioned to fear our own menstrual blood. Take a moment to think about how absurd that is. It's time to take back control of your period and everything it represents.

What does it feel like to insert the menstrual cup?

With the proper fit and cup size, you should not feel the menstrual cup at all once inserted (like a tampon). If it is too long, you may feel the stem. However, you can trim the stem of the menstrual cup by cutting along the stem lines. If you can feel the entire cup, your menstrual cup is most likely not the right size, has not opened properly, or is too low/high in your vaginal canal. There's a reason why menstrual cup users rave about how comfortable they are. But as they say, practice makes perfect.

What material is the BeYou cup made of?

Our menstrual cup is made of super soft and flexible medical silicone. This makes it a safe material to be inserted into the vagina and is respectful of all skin types.
Why soft? In fact, we designed our menstrual cup to be softer than other menstrual cups because that was the first opinion after talking to thousands of users. Besides, not everything that goes inside needs to be hard.

Does it hurt to use a menstrual cup?

Using a menstrual cup shouldn't hurt at all. That's the great thing about the BeYou menstrual cup: it's so comfortable! However, if your cup is causing you pain, there are a few possible reasons:
You have the wrong size - If your cup is too large or too long, it may be too high in your vagina or may be pressing against your vaginal walls, which can cause some discomfort.
The stem of the cup is too long - If your vaginal canal is short or you have a low cervix, the stalk may be pinching your vaginal walls. You can trim part of the stalk with scissors.
The cup is too high - If the cup is too high and has not unfolded properly, it could be pressing on the cervix. We recommend that you make sure the cup sits lower in the vaginal canal and slowly push the cup up so that it is fully inserted.
The cup is too low - If the cup is too low in the vaginal canal, it can cause discomfort. To make sure that the cup is not too low, make sure that the entire stem of the menstrual cup is fully inserted and that the cup is not directly at the entrance of the vagina.

How old do you have to be to try a menstrual cup?

You don't need to be a certain age to use any type of menstrual product and this is certainly the same for menstrual cups. The moment you start having your period you will want to find the most comfortable and suitable menstrual product for you.
If you start using a menstrual cup at a young age: give yourself time to try different folds and positions and get used to the menstrual cup, just as you would a tampon or pad. Your blood will help make the insertion of the menstrual product softer and gentler, so go ahead and make a "bloody mess"! It's the only time you'll ever want to do it.

Can I swim with a menstrual cup on?

Can I return a menstrual cup if I change my mind?

Although we wish you could, for hygiene reasons we cannot accept returns of menstrual cups (it would be like returning underwear in a clothing store).

Can a menstrual cup get stuck or lost?

It is impossible for the menstrual cup to get lost or stuck inside you, as it cannot move higher than the cervix. If you go to remove the cup and it gets stuck, stay calm (as panic can tighten the muscles around it) and pinch the base of the menstrual cup to release the suction...and then pull it out. It sounds much scarier than it is, but once you're a cup pro, you won't even think about it!
The more comfortable you are with your vagina, the better. That's why we always recommend practicing using a cup even before delivery. Why? Well, it's natural to panic if you're new to this cup thing and you think it's stuck...while it's full of blood...and you're alone...and you still want to clean it! and you still want to clean it up!
But don't worry, practice makes perfect, and we promise that once you get used to it you'll wonder how you ever managed with pads or tampons.

I have endometriosis, can I use a menstrual cup?

Our BeYou menstrual cup is much softer and holds more blood than a tampon, so many women in the endocrine community have found the BeYou menstrual cup to be a great support for those unexpected symptoms caused by endometriosis. You'll find that you don't need to empty the cup as much as with a tampon, which also reduces friction and irritation.
That said, if you have endometriosis we recommend that you talk to your trusted medical professional before using a menstrual cup. We prefer that you have peace of mind when you begin your cup journey.

Can I do sports with a menstrual cup?

Yes you can. The beauty of the BeYou Menstrual Cup is that you can wear it no matter what exercise you are doing. We understand that many swimmers, cyclists, runners and dancers struggle to find sanitary products that are durable and long lasting. However, we've made sure you can wear the BeYou menstrual cup for up to 12 hours (although we still recommend emptying it every 4 hours). Plus, the vacuum seal creates a barrier against the vaginal walls, which means it won't move and is leak-proof.

Do I have to remove and clean my menstrual cup every time I go to the bathroom?

No, you won't have to remove and clean the cup every time you go to the bathroom, but you may want to make sure everything still fits properly the first few times you use the cup.
We recommend that you keep the cup inserted for 4 to 8 hours before emptying it.
You should clean the cup every time you take it out, which is very easy to do with our Menstrual Cup Cleansing Foam, water or a piece of toilet paper.

Can I use the menstrual cup if I am going through menopause?

The menstrual cup is a reliable option for your menstrual transition to menopause. You are going to face unexpected changes in your period. Your flow can fluctuate and become quite unpredictable, so you may not have the full range of period products available to you from one moment to the next.
You can track your period using the measurements on the side of your BeYou cup to monitor any changes that occur. It's a great way to make your life a little simpler.

Can anything damage or break my Menstrual Cup?

Yes, it is definitely possible to damage your cup with certain objects. When cleaning your cup, make sure not to let it boil for too long, as extreme heat can easily damage your cup. Other silicone-based products can damage the cup, so it's best to stay away from them and keep your menstrual cup safe in the pouch it comes with.
