If you're starting from scratch, be sure to start with it only in your nighttime routine. Apply it to the skin in the near-final step of your routine, before moisturizer. Sensitive skin? The skin goes through a process of getting used to retinol called retinization. Remember:

• Start by using it only one day a week. It will be enough if you have never used it and your skin is not used to it.
