FAQS
FAQS
Do I have to reapply every few hours?
What you should know: An SPF 50 sunscreen, if you use it in the morning in sufficient amounts (say half a teaspoon for your face and neck) and just live your daily life, in the office, outside the store, will give you an adequate amount of protection all day long. However, according to the official recommendation of the FDA (the U.S. Food and Drug Administration), it is advisable to reapply sunscreen to your face and neck. It is advisable to reapply sunscreen every two hours if you are constantly in the sun, this is what we recommend.
So, would it be suitable for sensitive skin or skin with rosacea?
We can't give you a 100% yes, but we do give you a big yes, because everyone's skin is different, and some people are allergic to one ingredient or another. But this formula has been developed specifically for this skin type, so it's very likely to work for you. If you have rosacea and your skin tone is not particularly light, you will want to use this formula because it contains plant extracts that help reduce skin sensitivity and cover imperfections as an invisible, mint-colored concealer. If you have a very light or porcelain skin tone, this product may not be suitable or may appear dark to you.
I have problematic skin (often with acne and oil), can I use it too?
Yes, you can use it :) The Altruist Dermatologist Anti-Redness and Pigmentation Sunscreen SPF50 is a lightweight, creamy sunscreen that is non-heavy, non-sticky and won't clog pores. Its soothing and anti-redness ingredients will specifically help reduce inflammation and eliminate PIE (flat reddish-colored spot) and PIH (browner color) spots left after acne as soon as possible (i.e. red and brown spots after acne).
My skin is dry, can it be suitable for me?
Yes, it can be a super choice, the formula moisturizes pleasantly with ingredients such as panthenol, glycerin or hydrolyzed mushroom extract.
I have fair skin, isn't it right for me?
If you are one of the more porcelain skin tones, you will most likely find this product dark for your skin tone. Based on our own experience, we can say that after about 20-30 minutes, it somehow starts to melt into the skin and loses its darker color, but not its coverage, and becomes elegantly satin finish powdery but does not stay porcelain tone. If you're in the mood to experiment, you can try it comfortably, but we recommend it mainly for medium to darker skin tones.
DoesAltruist use chemical or physical (mineral) filters?
Altruist uses physical (mineral) and chemical filters for optimal protection against the sun's rays.
Why is Altruist available at such an affordable price?
The Altruist products have been developed by experts who want to change your attitude towards the sunscreen industry and prevent as many cases of skin cancer as possible; with low costs and prices, they encourage people to use sunscreen products more frequently and correctly.
Altruistwas developed by leading British dermatologist and surgeon Dr. Andrew Birnie and Dutch economist David Westerbeek van Eerten. The brand was born out of a shared passion for preventing people from getting skin cancer. They designed products in their spare time and used their own expertise and connections, achieving very low development cost prices; these savings have been passed on to the end customer in their very low prices.
Dermatologist Anti-Redness & Pigmentation SPF50
WHY IS A UNIQUE PRODUCT?
Green sunscreen, with a light but creamy texture, that offers safe, broad-spectrum protection that not only protects against UVB rays responsible for sunburn and UVA rays that accelerate skin aging and activate melanocytes, but also provides protection in the visible light range. The UVA effectiveness of the formula is particularly outstanding, far exceeding the European Union standard (when we find the UVA symbol surrounded with a circle on the packaging, it means that it protects 1/3 of the SPF value against UVA rays. The value of the SPF, for example SPF 30, SPF 50, is only related to protection against UVB rays). Our products achieve much higher protection values against UVA rays (obtaining 5 stars as a rating in the Boots Test), which is fantastic.
It contains a total of eight new generation chemical and physical sunscreens such as avobenzone, titanium dioxide or Tinosorb A2B. The latter is known as one of the most innovative and effective filters today. These multiple filters stabilize each other and strengthen protection, while allowing each component to enter the formula in relatively low amounts. Thanks to lower volumes and micro-encapsulation technology, this formula is specifically friendly to sensitive skin.
Altruist Anti-Redness and Pigmentation Protector SPF50 is designed for those with skin hypersensitivity, such as rosacea, dermatitis or severe acne or for those with uneven skin tone or prone to melasma/pigmentation spots or skin redness.
The sunscreen contains plant extracts (such as calendula extract, gotu kola, licorice), which on the one hand provide antioxidant protection for the skin and help faster wound healing and on the other hand, are effective against redness : strengthen blood vessels and have a calming effect. Hydrolyzed mushroom extract and panthenol also have a soothing and anti-inflammatory action, but not only that, when complemented with additional glycerin, they also pleasantly moisturize the skin.
The sunscreen has a fun mint color, which helps counteract redness and hyper-pigmentation spots on the skin by acting as a blemish concealer. When massaged, the green color transforms into "skin color." We recommend it for medium to tanned skin tones, it is likely that for porcelain or very light skin this tone will be a little dark.
WHO IS THIS PRODUCT INTENDED FOR?
For those with sensitive skin, prone to pigmentation spots and/or redness (such as rosacea or acne) who are looking for good value for money and a sunscreen that helps calm the skin and even out the tone. Perfect for all skin types.
